Still Here, Just in a Busy Season

Hi, friends!

I know it has been a little while since I last showed up here. Life has been so, so busy lately. My husband has been traveling for work, which means I have been with the girls 24/7.. and our days have felt very full, very rushed, and sometimes a little chaotic.

By the end of the day, I am usually completely exhausted and ready to fall into bed. But there is still a kitchen to clean, food to prepare, and meal prep to finish for the following day. I prefer doing some of those things after the girls are asleep, especially when I need a little more focus… or simply need both of my hands available!

I do try to prepare some things during the day while the baby is napping. My sweet “big little girl” loves helping me in the kitchen. It is one of the cutest things! Every time we are chopping onions, she starts eating them. Yes, raw onions! I have honestly never seen a child enjoy onions the way she does. She loves them, so I just let her eat them. Why not, right?

These little moments make our busy days so much sweeter.

Still, after doing so much every day, I have found myself feeling completely blank. My creativity seemed to take a deep dive, and I became disappointed and frustrated with myself for not coming here to share my thoughts.

But the truth is, I didn’t have many thoughts to share. Every time I considered writing something for the blog, my mind came up empty.

So today, instead of waiting for the perfect idea or a meaningful lesson, I simply wanted to stop by and say hello.

I’m alive. I’m well. I’m just very, very busy!

Of course, fall allergies have also decided to make an early appearance. The season is not even fully here yet, but my eyes are already terribly itchy, and my nose is constantly running. It is so annoying! Every allergy season becomes its own little journey as I try to figure out which medication will help, especially because I am nursing and need to be careful about what I take.

There is always something, isn’t there?

But we will survive, friends.

I also want to remind myself that this blog was never meant to become another obligation. This is supposed to be my carefree little corner…a place where I can write whenever I feel inspired, share what is on my heart, and simply enjoy writing.

No pressure. No deadlines. No expectations.

I want to keep it that way because writing is something I love, and I never want it to feel like another responsibility on my already-full list.

At the same time, I know some of you come here looking forward to reading something new. That means more to me than you know. I am sorry I have been away for so long, but I want you to know that I am still here, and I am still writing.

I am slowly finding my way back to myself while adjusting to this new, crazy schedule. It may take a little time, but we will make it work. I will be here whenever I can, sharing my thoughts, my experiences, and whatever the Lord places on my heart.

Thank you for continuing to be here with me. I love and appreciate you all so much.

May the Lord bless you, protect you, and watch over you and your families.

Until next time, friends.

With love and many blessings,

Tay

When the Schedule Falls Apart (and That’s Okay)

Hi everyone 🤍

I know it’s been a little quiet around here.

This week was… not the typical rhythm. My little one got sick a few weeks ago, then both kids got a cold, and after that I had so many busy days coming up, and the ones not so busy ended up being busy… so I barely could give any attention to my personal matters. You know those weeks where everything just stacks up at once? That was this one. It felt busy, stretched, a little chaotic.

But I’m here. And I want to say something simple:

It’s okay.

Sometimes we are not able to do everything we planned. Sometimes the best thing we can do is go with the flow, handle what’s in front of us, and give ourselves a little grace.

And if you’re anything like me, that grace doesn’t always come easily.

The Morning Routine That Keeps Me Grounded

I have a morning schedule that I truly love. It’s printed and hanging on my fridge. It helps me begin the day calmly. I know what comes next, how much time I have, what needs to get done. It gives my day structure and flow.

And honestly? It makes everything easier. (I will share it as a file for you to download on my next post)

But this week?

I barely followed it.

And that frustrated me more than I expected.

The Weekly Reset That Didn’t Happen

I also have a weekly rhythm — certain days for certain tasks.
One day bathrooms.
Another day reorganizing the kitchen.
Another day resetting the entryway.

It keeps the house from feeling overwhelming because I’m not trying to do everything at once.

But this week… none of it happened.

The bathrooms waited.
The kitchen stayed messy.
The entryway definitely did not get its reset.

And I caught myself thinking, You’re failing. You can’t even keep up with your own system.

Isn’t it wild how quickly we can turn on ourselves?

The Gentle Reminder I Needed

Then I paused.

My kids were okay.
They were fed.
They were clean.
They were smiling.
They were loved.

And that’s what really matters.

At the end of the day, we don’t get bonus points for perfectly cleaned baseboards. We don’t get eternal rewards for color-coded closets. But we are shaping hearts. We are building memories. We are raising little humans who need our presence more than they need a spotless house.

The mess? It can be cleaned later.

The laundry? It will wait.

The kitchen? Still going to be there tomorrow.

But your children’s need for your love and attention? That’s right now.

Priorities, Mama

We all want the home to look beautiful.
We want it clean, organized, peaceful, smelling good.
We want to feel on top of things.

And structure is good. Routines are helpful. Systems are wise.

But priorities matter more.

First things first:

• Happy kids
• Fed kids
• Clean kids
• A present mom

Everything else can come later.

Sometimes being a good mom means closing the planner and sitting on the floor instead.

This Is Your Reminder

Relax.

Go with the flow when you need to.

Set your priorities clearly.

Your kids are okay.
Your home will recover.
You are not failing.

You are doing better than you think.

With love and grace,

Tay 🤍
